Making Your Spaces Neuro-Inclusive:

How to get started

Date: July 22, 2026

Time: 10:00 am America/Chicago (UTC-5)

Duration: 2 hours

Platform: Zoom (live, will be recorded)

Creating neuro-inclusive spaces means more people can show up as their best and most authentic selves - making it easier for all of us to do the same.

But with all the buzz about neurodiversity (especially on social media!), it can feel overwhelming to know where to start.

Join Understanding Ableism’s free live workshop for an engaging introduction to neuro-inclusion, including key terms, types of neurodivergence, and practical actions you can take to make your spaces more inclusive.

Woven throughout the workshop are moments to reflect, apply the lessons to your spaces, and ask questions.

You’ll leave the workshop with

practical neuro-inclusion strategies that work in a variety of spaces

confidence that you’re on the right track and advice on how to keep going

a framework to understand how neurodivergent people experience the world

support on applying neuro-inclusion strategies to your own spaces

Meet your speaker

Rebecca Cartwright

Rebecca is a neurodivergent speaker and disability advocate. Believing that education happens in many forms, she meets people where they are - without judgment.

Combining personal stories with practical advice, Rebecca helps people recognize ableism in their spaces and offers them guidance to make those spaces more inclusive through practical, everyday actions.

“Small acts of inclusion add up. Get enough of them in our spaces and we change our culture.”

Who can benefit?

  • professionals responsible for the well-being of others, such as in healthcare, wellness, education, and HR/management

  • neurodivergent people seeking a framework and the language to help advocate for their needs

  • anyone wanting to make their spaces neuro-inclusive but is worried about making mistakes, causing harm, or keeping it sustainable over time

  • anyone who wants to understand both why we have the current problem and how we can fix it

Which spaces are included?

Neurodiversity exists everywhere that people gather, so neuro-inclusion can too.

Whether it’s a physical or online space, there’s always something we can do to improve accessibility and inclusion for neurodivergent people.

Choose a space that matters to you and apply neuro-inclusive principles to it during the workshop.

Not sure which space to choose? Here are some examples: meetings, classes, events, healthcare appointments, social media accounts, coaching sessions, community platforms, and trainings.

Accessibility + Inclusion

If you need accommodations, please let me know at least 7 days before the event.

These are the actions I currently take for accessibility and inclusion. I’m always learning better ways to be inclusive, so please let me know via email if you have questions or feedback.
